Flight Information

This tour does not cover international flights to Kathmandu and Kathmandu flights. They will have to be booked individually. You will arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, where you will be picked up by your hotel. It is included in the itinerary of domestic flights like Kathmandu-Pokhara or Kathmandu-Chitwan. I intend to arrive in Kathmandu at the end of the first day and depart Kathmandu after breakfast on the final day.

Nepal Visa Information

The majority of the travelers will require a Nepal entry visa, which they can obtain upon arrival at the airport. Carry a valid passport, passport-sized photographs and visa fee. The visa that is given to tourists is 15 days, 30 days, or 90 days. An online application can also be done before the travel to make the process quicker. You should never forget to check the latest requirements.

Travel Insurance

This tour requires travel insurance to take place. It must include the cancellations of trips, medics, and adventure sports like paragliding or rafting. Although the itinerary will be comfortable, insurance will take care of any eventualities. Bring a copy of your policy during the trip.

Health and Physical Fitness

This tour is applicable to moderately fit travelers. It is marked by mild walks, sightseeing and other optional things such as boating and safaris. There are smaller altitude variations on some of them, which are not very difficult. Keep hydrated, get plenty of sleep and discuss your health issues with your doctor before you head out.

Weather Conditions

The weather in Nepal varies according to the change of season and location. Spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) are the most appropriate seasons when the weather is clear and the temperature is not too high. During the daytime, Kathmandu and Pokhara tend to have temperatures between 15-25 °C, and Chitwan might be warmer. There is a monsoon season (June-August), and it can be expected to be very heavy and can interfere with travel. Layers of packing and a light jacket in case of cool mornings and evenings.

Cultural Considerations

In Nepal, culture and religion are abundant and therefore, dress modestly when attending temples. Bring up your shoulders and knees. Leave off shoes when in holy places. Courteous treatment is valued. One is expected to greet others with a polite saying of Namaste. Ask them to take photos of themselves before taking pictures of people, particularly in the countryside.

Tipping Guidelines

Tipping is expected and welcomed, but optional. A 10 to 15 per cent tip is considered normal in a restaurant when one does not receive service. NPR 100-200/day is the average payment to hotel staff. Per day, guides and drivers receive tips of NPR500-1000 and NPR300- 500, respectively.

Safety & Security

Generally, Nepal is safe, though watch your environment. Please do not walk at night alone, lock your valuables, and know what is going on in the neighborhood. Always listen to the directions of your guide and particularly when you are out on safaris and activities of adventure.

Currency and Money Matters

The currency of Nepal is the Nepalese Rupee (NPR). There are ATMs, banks, and currency exchange counters in big cities, and even in rural territories, it is best to use cash. Hotels and restaurants accept credit cards; however, always have some cash to make smaller purchases.

Transportation

This tour is conducted in a private and comfortable car and it includes domestic flights. Some roads may be winding, particularly in mountainous regions, and this is the reason why you must always wear a seatbelt. Tourists should not use public transport and use taxis and rickshaws (but within short distances).

Electricity and Charging

Electricity in Nepal is 230 V, 50 Hz and has Type C plugs, Type D plugs, and Type M plugs. Include a universal adapter and a power bank because in rural areas, there is a risk of power outages.

Festivals and Public Holidays

Huge festivals such as Dashain, Tihar, and Holi are lively and can compromise on services and sightseeing. Make cheques ahead of time, because there are places which are shut during public holidays.

Food and Dining

Nepali cuisine consists of dal bhat, momo and sel roti. Dine in well-known restaurants so as not to have stomach complications, and consume bottled water. There are large quantities of vegetarian and vegan choices.

Cancellations and weather-related changes

Itinerary changes may occur due to weather, particularly when it is the monsoon season. Other plans will be provided where feasible. Weather-unrelated cancellations can be charged. It is always advisable to read about cancellation policies before booking.

Language and Communication

The official language is Nepali, although English is commonly used in tourist regions. There is high coverage of mobile services in urban areas and negligible coverage in rural areas. Most hotels have Wi-Fi, and local SIM cards can be bought to ensure proper communication.

Local Customs and Etiquette

Be culturally sensitive: Greetings, respectful attire, and polite behavior are expected. Avoid public displays of affection, and never touch anyone's head, as it is considered sacred.
